GWCS' Jail Ministry provides worship opportunities, Bible studies, mentoring, and Breaking Barriers programming for the inmates housed at Marathon County Jail. Our ministry is designed to help inmates know about the love that God has for them in Christ Jesus and to help them make positive changes in their lives for a better future for them and their loved ones. Please email the GWCS volunteer coordinator for more information at [email protected].

GWCS' Elder Care Ministry provides worship services, Bible study opportunities, and other Chaplaincy services such as visits, hospice care, and end of life services for those who reside in many of our area's assisted living facilities, long-term care facilities, and retirement communities in the greater Wausau area. Please email the GWCS volunteer coordinator for more information at [email protected].

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
|
We are looking for volunteers with a heart for those adults who have special physical and mental difficulties. Those who volunteer would assist the leaders of this Sunday school styled Bible study that takes place on Monday evenings during the school year. We have a need for someone with musical abilities to provide music as well. Please contact the GWCS volunteer coordinator for more information at [email protected].

Begun in 1998, the Kids Kount Program provides gifts for children in the Marathon County area. With the help of Sally Scinto-Reinertson and Marlene Schalow, along with many volunteers, the gifts are purchased, wrapped and delivered to an average of 60 children every Christmas. The donations for these gifts come from individual and group donors. Without the help of these generous people, along with the volunteers, this program would not be possible. Please contact the GWCS volunteer coordinator for more information at [email protected].
